In a new report from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, 18 infectious-disease modeling researchers predicted how the US coronavirus outbreak could evolve in the coming months.
The researchers estimated that around 195,000 people could die by the end of the year.
But a model from the Imperial College of London estimated that up to 2.2 million people could die if no actions were taken to stop transmission in the US.
