The family of Santa Fe shooting victim Sabika Sheikh, a Pakistani exchange student, said they thought she'd be safe in the US

The family of 18-year-old Sabika Sheikh, an exchange student from Pakistan who was killed in the Santa Fe high-school shooting on Friday, said they believed she would be safe in the US.
Sheikh left Pakistan last August and was set to return home in just a few weeks for Eid al-Fitr.
Sheikh and nine other people were killed in the shooting, and another 10 people were injured.

Early Friday morning at Santa Fe High School , a gunman opened fire inside an art class, killing nine students and one teacher.
Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt has long been known for his connection to the Houston area, and has offered to pay for the funerals of the 10 people killed in the shooting.
Watt became known for his charitable giving in the Houston community after his fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey victims raised over $37 million last year.

The shooting happened on the same day as the deadly mass shooting at a high school in Santa Fe, Texas, which killed 10 and wounded 10 more.
