50,000 evacuated as typhoon Mangkhut approaches

More than 50,000 fishermen and nearly 11,000 fishing boats have been called back to port in east China's Fujian Province as super typhoon Mangkhut approaches China's southern provinces.
Work has been suspended at more than 1,600 construction sites and 128 tourist spots have been closed in the province as of Saturday morning, according to local authorities.
According to China's National Meteorological Center, Mangkhut is expected to land in Guangdong between Sunday afternoon and evening, moving northwestward at a speed of 28 km per hour, about 860 km away from the city of Yangjiang...

At least 12 have died after Typhoon Mangkhut brought destructive winds and heavy rain to the Philippines on Saturday.
The strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year slammed into the northeastern tip of Luzon island, a breadbasket for the region.
Mankhut is moving on towards southern China where it's expected to make landfall between Sunday afternoon and evening.
