In the recent years, Rugby sevens in Southern and East Africa has gained much-deserved momentum, and it is attracting more and more spectators, many of whom are international tourists.

The Ministry of Tourism in Oman is working on several projects and a promotion plan for making tourism components of Dhofar more attractive. Marhoon bin Said bin Mubarak Al Ameri, the Director General of Tourism in Dhofar governorate, said that tourism is expected to witness significant growth in the near future since more tourists of different nationalities are expected to visit the Sultanate.

Dhofar governorate is preparing to receive more European tourist groups during the winter tourism season this year. The Ministry of Tourism is also initiating several projects and a promotion plan in order to make tourism components of Dhofar more attractive.
