Record 57.6 million tourist visit Chicago in 2018

Chicago welcomed record-breaking 57.6 million visitors in 2018, including both business and pleasure, as per the city's new tourism numbers. Mayor Rahm Emanuel attributes attractions like Art on the Mart for the record growth in tourism. It shows a 4.3 per cent jump over 2017's record of 55.2 million arrivals.
The rate of growth among domestic travellers, rose by 4.4 per cent from 2017. Chicago welcomed overseas visitors too whose numbers swelled by 2.9 per cent. The growth happened despite gun violence and strained police-community relations.

Dubai - the 6th most visited city globally

With nearly 16 million visitors last year, Dubai is the 6th most visited city in the world. The record-breaking number has encouraged the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing to aim for greater things; hence, Dubai now aims to welcome 25 million visitors by 2025, rivaling cities like Hong Kong, Bangkok and London.
The campaign is named “Only in Dubai”, and the goal is to increase the number of local experiences tourists get to witness in the Jewel City of the Gulf, thus increasing the number of repeated visits.
