Potala Palace welcomes 1.45 million tourists in 2017

The Potala Palace that is a renowned Buddhist heritage site witnessed the arrival of an overwhelming 1.45 million tourists in the year 2017 marking a rise of nearly 5.8% year on year as per the sources with the palace administration who mentioned it on Wednesday.
The number of visitors to this palace in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region has soared rapidly.
In 2015, only 900,000 tourists had visited this part of the world as per the account of the administration. With an aim to safeguard this heritage site, the administration has set a limit of a maximum of 5,000 tickets per day...
