Most coronavirus cases spread from people with no symptoms, CDC says in new report

People who are infected with the coronavirus but show no symptoms probably account for most coronavirus transmission, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Friday.
That includes people who are asymptomatic and those who have not yet developed symptoms.

A Friday report from the Centers for Disease Control found that counties in Kansas that adopted a mask mandate saw a decrease in cases of the disease, while counties that opted out saw an increase by 100%.
While experts have long agreed that masks are a key part of limiting the spread of COVID-19, their usage has been the subject of months-long political debate.

China's financial hub of Shanghai said on Friday it had confirmed two coronavirus cases in a married couple in the city's Pudong district, its first locally transmitted COVID-19 infections in 11 days. A 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were reported as suspected cases on Friday afternoon and their nucleic acid tests returned positive results, the Shanghai government said in a statement. Mainland China reported 16 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 20, down from 17 the previous day, with seven cases of local transmission and nine cases originating overseas, the country's health authority said on Saturday.
