Tourists upbeat in Japan despite coronavirus outbreak

While Japan deals with one of the worst outbreaks of a new coronavirus outside China, foreign tourists to the nation remain largely confident - at least, for the moment - that they will be safe in the country.
There were over 70 confirmed cases in Japan as of Wednesday, the third highest number after China, where the virus originated, and Singapore. While the world focuses on the coronavirus, people in China with other illnesses may pay a price long after the outbreak ends

The coronavirus outbreak is demanding a huge amount of medical resources in China.
That could create a gap in care for patients with other illnesses, according to Tolbert Nyenswah, a researcher at John Hopkins University.
The outbreak could take an indirect toll on the health of people with other diseases, due to a lack of care at medical facilities or because people might fear going to a hospital during the outbreak.
