Egypt needs to use the World Cup for tourism promotion

“The World Cup in Russia is to be considered not only a sporting event, but one to promote Egypt as a tourist destination,” said Mohamed Attia Ahmed, a member of the Technical Office of the Ministry of Tourism in Egypt and a researcher in the Department of Business and World Heritage.
Ahmed said that the tourism sector must make use of the Egyptian national football team's participation in the World Cup to promote all forms of tourism, especially sports tourism.

Mexico' hosting of 2026 World Cup expected to boost tourism

Mexico, the United States and Canada have been selected to host the 2026 World Cup.
The Mexico Tourism Board hopes that the event will bring a new spotlight to the country's tourism sector. 2026 is the third time when a major sporting event will be taking place in Mexico, and it will be the first time when 48 teams will be playing 80 matches in a World Cup, making it the largest tournament in history, according to the MTB. Mexico will host ten matches in three cities: Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City.
