Last year, Alabama tourists spent a record $14.3 billion as an all-time high 26.6 million people visited the state.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced the results of the Alabama Tourism Department's annual report at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum at the Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham. The venue find sits place among the most-visited attractions in the state each year.

Japan is witnessing a large number of tourists of late

From 1995 to 2012, annually, the number of tourists going to Japan increased from 3.3 million to 8.4 million, marking a growth rate of about 6% each year. After that, there was a deluge in tourists visiting Japan.
In its most recent report, the UNWTO estimates that about 28.7 million tourists visited Japan last year. This increase is the largest ever recorded by the organization, which keeps statistics going back to 1995.
