JetBlue to Retrofit Airbus Fleet with Vortex Generators

JetBlue announced last week its intention to retrofit its Airbus fleet with vortex generators in an attempt to reduce noise.
The move reflects JetBlue's commitment to the people who live in neighborhoods where planes fly. The generators are small devices that disrupt air as it travels over the wings, reducing a whistling sound commonly heard during descents.
In 2015, JetBlue began receiving aircraft with the generator pre-installed. Now, it is working to affix the remaining 138 Airbus aircraft with the generators by 2021.
