For European tourists, Philippines can be a destination with huge potential as they are looking for an experiential form of travel, an official of the Department of Tourism said.
“A lot of these opportunity markets are also looking for new destinations and many of them admittedly visited different parts of Asia, but not the Philippines,” Tourism Undersecretary Benito Bengzon Jr. said.
“So we are able to position ourselves as a new, exciting and for some, an off-beaten kind of destination,” he added.

Japanese TV and music stars iconic WA road trip film to boost Western Australia tourism

Japanese television star and musician Takeshi Tsuruno has embarked on an iconic road trip from Perth to Monkey Mia for a Japanese travel show to be broadcast on BS Fuji TV.
The show will highlight experiences that are attractive to Japanese travellers including interacting with wildlife and nature, viewing wildflowers and indulging in fresh local seafood.
The two-hour program, called Tsuruno Tabi, follows Mr Tsuruno and his friends Rui Tsubota and Shinya Ueda as they explore Western Australia's beautiful Coral Coast region.
