Economists and analysts predict stormy year for Japan's tourism

Tokyo and International Olympic Committee agreed on a one-year delay and concerns are rife about whether small and midsized business in the tourism and service industries will be able to weather the coronavirus shockwave until the events are held next year.
An inbound tourism recovery was expected by the tour operators, hotels and eateries as the tourist traffic dried up and the domestic consumption was severely hit by social distancing.
From an expected 9 million domestic and 300,000 foreign spectators coming to the capital the postponement was likely to wipe out the demand.
