WTO: International tourism grew 4% in the first half of 2019

Ahead of the 23 rd World Tourism Organization General Assembly, the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer the International tourist arrivals grew 4% from January to June 2019 as compared to the same period last year.
Middle East, Asia and the Pacific were responsible for the growth showing +8% and 6%. There was 4% growth in Europe but Africa and the Americas showed +3% and +2% respectively showing moderate growth.

International tourist arrivals rises by 4% in 1st half, may not grow more

The U.N. World Tourism Organisation said Monday that international tourist arrivals rose by four per cent in the first half of 2019. However, trade tensions and Brexit uncertainty could hinder growth in future.
Destinations across the world received 671 million foreign visitors between January and June, almost 30 million more than in the same period last year, the Madrid-based United Nations body said in a statement.
