Tourism WA to implement new marketing strategy to boost tourism

In order to increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting Western Australia, Tourism Western Australia will implement a new marketing strategy. The marketing push will demonstrate the WA Government's commitment to securing more direct flights from China.
The strategy will see an additional $1 million allocated to the China market for co-operative and tactical campaigns to build awareness of Western Australia in Shanghai. Tourism WA will also encourage WA tourism operators to become ChinaReady to better serve the Chinese consumer.

In a speech in Shanghai, Australian Trade Minister Simon Birmingham said that record levels of Chinese tourism in Australia are building trust between the two countries.
Amid a trade war between the US and China, Mr. Birmingham, who is also the tourism minister, said that Australia “celebrates China's economic success to date”, and it is good for the region and Australia.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will render a key speech on Monday at the opening of an international trade fair in Shanghai that is expected to open Chinese markets to US companies.
