Tourism needs an impetus to get back on track

The tourism sector needs an impetus to get back on track following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Tourism contributes more than 5% of the country's GDP, directly or indirectly employing over 12% of the working population, amounting to almost 90 million jobs, said the director general in the Union tourism ministry, Meenakshi Sharma.

In Uttarakhand, tourism is on the rise with the state government constantly enthusing religious and other activities related to tourism over here. The Covid-19 pandemic has absolutely declined tourism but the current condition will get restored quickly once the condition returns to normalcy.
