Western Australia eyes Indian tourists to boost tourism activity

In a bid to attract more international visitors, Tourism Western Australia has set its eyes on India. With a population of more than 1.3 billion people and a growing middle-class, India has the potential to grow into a key market for Western Australia.
Tourism Minister Paul Papalia, who is in India, is set to announce Tourism WA had committed funds to market Western Australia in India for the first time and would soon appoint a dedicated marketing representative based in Mumbai. Western Australia launches new global tourism campaign in 9 international markets

Promoting driving holidays in Western Australia, a new global tourism campaign was recently launched in Perth. Showcasing WA as the ‘Road Trip State', the campaign will be launched domestically and in nine international markets - Singapore, Malaysia, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Indonesia.
The campaign proposes the considerable size of the State should be viewed as an advantage, and highlights how its size provides an opportunity for people to experience a variety of destinations as part of a road trip.
