Delta Adds Biometric Boarding in Atlanta

Delta Air Lines said it's adding a “biometric terminal” at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport later this year. The terminal allows facial recognition technology in identifying passengers at all steps, from check-in to boarding.
The technology will be available to all 2.2 million passengers who annually use Terminal F. The technology enables biometric identification at check-in, baggage drop-off, security screening, boarding and when returning to the United States and clearing customs. The technology theoretically speeds up these processes, allowing passengers to skip showing identification.
Travelers on other airlines using the same terminal, like Aeromexico, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic Airways, will also be able to use the technology in lieu of showing a passport or driver's license.
